How to Download Facebook Ad Library Videos for Free (Step-by-Step Guide)

In this video, I’m going to show you how to download Facebook Ad Library videos completely for free!

If you've been running Facebook ads for a while, you’ve probably come across an amazing video ad that you want to save for future reference—whether to model it or draw inspiration from it.

The problem? There’s no real free tool that lets you do this. While some premium tools charge around $50 per month, I’ll show you how to do it for free in just 5 simple steps!

Step 1: Go to Facebook Ad Library

  1. Head over to Facebook Ad Library.
  2. Type in your favorite creator or brand.
  3. Locate the video ad you want to download.
  4. In this example, I’ll download a video ad by Marie Forleo.

Step 2: Inspect the Video Code

  1. Hover over the video ad.
  2. Right-click and select Inspect (or press Ctrl+Shift+I on Windows / Cmd+Option+I on Mac).
  3. This will open the page's source code—usually at the bottom or side of your screen.

Step 3: Copy the Video Source Link

  1. Look for the video source code.
    • It will look something like this: <source src="VIDEO LINK">.
  2. Double-click the link inside the source code.
  3. Copy the link and paste it into your browser.
  4. Press Enter.

Step 4: Download the Video

  1. The video will now open in your browser.
  2. Right-click on the video and select Save Video As.
  3. Choose a location to save it on your device.

Step 5: Change the File Extension

  1. If the file downloads as a .txt file, don’t worry!
  2. Rename the file and change the extension to .mp4.
  3. Press Enter—and that’s it! 🎉
  4. Your video is now saved and ready to use.

Now you have successfully downloaded a video from the Facebook Ad Library without paying for any premium tools!
